Number theory related to modular forms, modular curves and Shimura curves

Abstract：
As a natural generalization of classical modular curves, Shimura curves play a significant role in arithmetic, geometry and number theory. In this talk, we will give an introduction for their basic properties and discuss their connections with arithmetic and geometric invariants. Some methods are described in order to compute explicitly.
