What does this fellowship funding cover?
The Taiwan Ministry of Education awards 50% of stipend and tuition funding to selected PhD students for up to four years. Washington University schools/departments provide the remaining 50%. Support from the MOE is given directly to Washington University. In addition, the scholarship offers an annual travel allowance to return to Taiwan for the purposes of recruiting on behalf of WashU and the Taiwan Ministry of Education.
Who is eligible?
Republic of China (Taiwan) citizens applying as new PhD students for the 2023-24 academic year are eligible to apply. Applicants recommended for the scholarship must be exemplary students who have demonstrated merit through consistently achieving academic excellence.
