Some Results in the Theory of Modular Curves and Shimura Curves.

Modular curves and Shimura curves play a central role in modern number theory. In this talk, we will discuss several problems in the theory of modular curves and Shimura curves, including explicit families of elliptic Q-curves of degree 2, families of genus 2 lifts of certain Q-curves, hypergeometric functions as automorphic forms on Shimura curves and Schwarzian differential associated to Shimura curves of genus 0.
