Vortex Filament Equation and NLS

In this talk, we will demonstrate the relation between the vortex filament equation( VFE) and nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation( NLS), including the Hashimoto transform. We also use this relation to obtain the existence of solutions to the Cauchy problems of VFE for periodic boundary conditions.
